The Waiting Place
Okay, two weeks ago, I promised to launch the companion course to the Art of Gig newsletter last week, but it's still not ready to go, even by my mediocre "launch half-assed MVP asap, finish building it live in production" standards. I fell victim to Hofstadter's Law: everything always takes longer than you expect, even when you take Hofstadter's Law into account.
So while I get that back on track, I figured I'd resume regular programming on this newsletter (because of course, this got put on hold, and I missed last week's issue because I was busy getting delayed on the course launch by the unexpected restarting of old stuff that was on hold) with a cartoon illustrating my theory of what drives Hofstadter's Law.
I've called this cartoon The Waiting Place in honor of that bit in Oh, the Places You'll Go. Except this is what happens when you take Dr. Seuss' advice and refuse to hang around in the waiting place because "NO! That's not for you! Somehow you'll escape / all that waiting and staying / You'll find the bright places / where Boom Bands are playing." Yeah right.
